NSCC celebrates the Class of 2010
June 2, 2010 – Media Release
Halifax, NS – Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) campuses across the province will celebrate the accomplishments of graduates during the month of June. Nearly 4,500 certificates and diplomas will be presented to learners at a total of 14 convocation ceremonies.
"Convocation is one of the most important milestones on a learner's journey," says Patsy MacDonald, College Registrar. "These ceremonies honour the hard work and dedication learners invest in their futures and provide the families, friends and NSCC employees who encourage and support learners along the way, the opportunity to share in their accomplishments."
NSCC Acting President, Don Bureaux, will address the Class of 2010 at each of the College's convocation ceremonies. "This year's graduates will join the growing number of NSCC alumni who build careers here, at home, with the advanced skills they've acquired at the College. We are very proud of the tremendous contribution they make to Nova Scotia's economy and quality of life," says Mr. Bureaux.
College awards for both academic and personal achievement will be presented at each convocation ceremony. This year, NSCC will present Honourary Diplomas to three Nova Scotians who have demonstrated a passion for giving back to their communities, their industries and the province.
