NSCC Chef Instructor Peter Dewar part of Team Canada

Kentville, NS – Chef Instructor Peter Dewar from the Kingstec Campus of Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) will join Culinary Team Canada at the 2012 World Culinary Olympics.
The Culinary Olympics are the biggest showcase of culinary expertise in the world, held every four years. The last competition in 2008 attracted 54 nations and 1,600 participating chefs.
Six chefs from across Canada will compete at the 2012 World Culinary Olympics in Erfurt, Germany. NSCC Chef Instructor Peter Dewar is the only chef from the Maritimes participating. "I am honoured to have been selected to be a part of this team," says Chef Instructor Peter Dewar. "Through this experience, I will have the opportunity to expand my knowledge of international cuisine, learn new culinary techniques from chefs around the world and I'll be able to bring all of that information back with me to share with my students."
The team has already started practicing and is preparing for its first competition at the 2010 Expogast Culinary World Cup in Luxembourg.
