New Industrial Engineering Technology Program
March 31, 2010 – News
NSCC's new Industrial Engineering Technology Program prepares students with the skills and leadership that businesses and organizations need to succeed. More than ever, businesses from all sectors require individuals who can bring problem-solving strength, technical ability, business judgment and people skills to help improve processes, productivity, quality, safety and more.
For more information, meet the instructors at the upcoming Technology Showcase.
Industrial Engineering Technologists have value in plant effectiveness, planning, mapping and streamlining production facilities to maximize effectiveness and efficiency. There is a need for this capacity, especially within LEAN organizations.

At Nautel Limited, Industrial Engineering Technologists will add value in many areas, including process design, product design, manufacturing, packaging and quality control. They will help reduce costs, improve efficiency, reduce waste and maintain quality. These are people who think in terms of the entire process, involving both people and machines. This is not a job where you stare at a computer monitor – you're out there working with people, gathering and analyzing data and solving problems all day long.

Industrial Engineering Technologists contribute to increased efficiency and productivity in so many ways – they help create the competitive edge that is essential in today's market driven environment.
The graduates of the new NSCC Industrial Engineering Technology will have a combination of skill-sets that's hard to find in a single individual. No other program in Atlantic Canada, or possibly the whole country, gives people as broad a range of skills. We're looking forward to 2012 when the first home-grown Industrial Engineering Technology grads come on the market.
