Small town boy heads into the big city. Coming from a graduating class of 34 students in the small town of Sheet Harbour, it was a giant step trying to get up the courage to take on this big old world. Enrolling into the Mechanical Engineering Technology Program was an easy choice for me, considering i have been involved with mechanical things all my life. I wanted to see the book side of things, and Attending the Institute of Technology campus has really allowed me to get my feet wet before i plunge into industry. The helpful staff members, not only in our department, but the college as a whole makes for a great experience. Not dreading getting out of bed every morning because of whom you may see, plays a major role in it. The confidence in myself through such things as everyday decision making, to the complexity of a trigonometric math equation. Jumping from the setting of a rural town into the hustle and bustle of the city was a huge step in my life, but the faculty members here at the campus help you ease into the transition relatively easy. As far as i can understand, comes from the simple fact that they were once students too,. Coming from high school up into the world of post secondary education. For that i am extremely grateful, and will endorse the Community college system for many years to come. (sorry for the spelling mistakes, completed rather quickly)
