As a graduate of NSCC Recording Arts 2002, we were one of the few classes to be lucky enough to be on the Sandy Point campus. One of the great things about that campus was the fact that we were able to come and go in the studio at anytime, due to living on-site. But what this course was about to me was the ability to work in many different areas of audio. Over the past 8 years, I have spent most of my spare time recording and doing live sound for bands in my hometown. Although the course was studio focused, all of the fundamentals and equipment knowledge is transferrable to live sound, film sound, television sound, and many other applications. The chance for employment is fairly high, as this is a very specific skill to possess. There are plenty of opportunities in the corporate world as well, for audio visual technicians in the conference and political worlds. All in all, this course has let me plot a direction in life, and is a smart move for anyone who is willing and able to work on their own, for themselves. It is a satisfying profession! I will end by saying that the course would be nothing without Mike Ryan and Terry Pulliam, who are both fantastic mentors, instructors, and all around excellent people. Good Luck to the program in it's future!

I graduated NSCC this past June with my Business Administration Certificate. I immediately started full time work after graduation. My plan was to complete the rest of my Fitt courses in order to complete my International Business Certificate. I just did not have the time, money, or the resources to move or school during the day. Thankfully, NSCC has the option of Online Learning. Now I can still work full time and on my own time, continue on my path to success! I really love the flexibility NSCC offers for students. NSCC is definitely the way to go!!!

I decided to change careers when my youngest child started school. I had worked in public relations and advertising for 15 years but baking had always been my passion. I was a great baker but I wanted to be considered a professional pastry chef so I enroled in the Baking and Pastry Arts program at NSCC. The schedule worked for me and I was able to succeed at my school work as well as work part time and be there when my family needed me.

I had multiple job offers when I graduated and credit NSCC and its fine reputation for that. Today I am a proud employee of NSCC, teaching what I love and sharing my knowledge with future chefs.
