Program Test Drive
There is no shortcut to success. But there is a fast lane. Why not Test Drive one of NSCC's 100+ full-time programs and find out what it's really like?
Test Drive Sign-up
When you're ready, sign-up for a Test Drive.
You can start here with a virtual Test Drive where NSCC students and grads introduce you to a sample of our programs.
Remember - NSCC has over 100 programs offered province wide. If you don't see a link to the program you're interested in, check our online calendar for the full program description.
It is all about the Right Program
Before you take a Test Drive you should explore your interests and passion. Do you like to work outside/inside? Do you like to work as a part of a team or by yourself? Do you like doing different things everyday? Do you want to work in an office? If you think you know what type of job you want, we recommend that you explore Career Options to find out what it is like to work in that environment, what the future job prospects look like, what the salary range could be, the types of organizations you could possibly work for, the type of work you should expect to do on a regular basis.
The Test Drive Experience
During a Test Drive you will meet with current students and faculty who can tell you what it is really like to be a College student. You will learn about the program and the kinds of things you will do on a day to day basis; what will be expected of you as a student; what the faculty are like; how much time each day you will spend in the labs and shops and how much time is in the classroom; how much studying at home will you have to do; will you be able to work part-time; what kinds of jobs you could get when you graduate; and what you will need to do to be successful in this program. Our students will even tell you about what it is like to be in a college environment, what campus life is like, how good the food is and how long it takes them to find a parking spot!
Test Drive is an opportunity to decide if the college provides the right learning environment for you. You have already done the research into what you want to do. Now you are researching if the College provides the right learning environment - is this the best way for you to learn.
As Test Drives are dependent on you meeting and talking with current students, Test Drives are only available between October-March.
