Troy Greene, Faculty
NSCC School of Applied Arts & New Media
After ten years as a marine hydrographic surveyor in Canada, the US, South America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, the UK, Australia and Japan, my new challenge was - the classroom. The staff and faculty at the Annapolis Valley Campus helped me feel at home, right from the first day.
Troy Greene
Troy is enjoying being part of the NSCC family. After graduating from UNB with a degree in Survey Engineering, his career took him to places around the world which was exciting, challenging and rewarding. A life of travel, however, begins to lose appeal when it means you're always saying good-bye to your family at home. "I was definitely ready for a career change when the NSCC opportunity presented itself."
Troy still remembers his student experience and is enjoying working with the students at the Annapolis Valley Campus. He is very impressed with the focus on portfolio learning and believes it sets NSCC students apart. "Anyone can say what they've done, but with portfolio, our students prove what they've done." Troy is also enjoying the professional challenges that his new role offers. "NSCC has high academic standards in its Geomatics programs. The commitment we have to staying current in our field keeps students a step ahead of most of the opportunities provided in the private sector. I am learning a lot from my colleagues."
