I've worked in both the private and public sectors, and now bring this experience to every class I teach at NSCC. I've always believed that education can leverage economic development; now I can actually watch it happen graduate by graduate, year by year.
Michael Kelly
A background in business along with extensive experience in establishing partnerships between industry and education, it only made sense that Michael Kelly would find a way to share his knowledge with NSCC. Mike started out as a Chartered Accountant. He then moved on to work for Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation (ECBC). At ECBC he had a number of roles and helped to establish a business-education partnership that was recognized with a National Award for Excellence by the Conference Board of Canada.
A life-long learner, Mike has both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Education. He is an active contributor to the community participating in various committees such as a past president of the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Cape Breton Island Economic Adjustment Fund Panel.
