Dan Criss, Faculty
NSCC School of Health & Human Services
I've always been a lifelong learner, and I know authentic learning comes from what is lived, from what is felt - and you can't earn a diploma in that. My work at NSCC challenges me to grow continuously, so I can engage my students in the kind of learning experience that has the power to transform their lives.
Dan Criss
A faculty member for the Foundational Human Services Program, Dan came to the college after having spent several years working in the field as a Youth Worker with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice. As a Youth Worker, Dan gained tremendous experience working with young offenders, gaining valuable insight on how to build relationships, support and encourage their development.
Helping others succeed and contributing to the community has been a big part of Dan's life both inside and outside the classroom. Students who come to NSCC leave with much more than just a new set of skills and Dan is always looking for new ways to engage students in learning and sharing his experience. Towards this he adds, "I'm proud to be part of the skills renaissance at NSCC."
