Teri Lake - Public Relations, Class of 2004Teri Lake is someone who lives life to the fullest. As a student at NSCC, she fully embraced her learning experience - excelling in her public relations program, participating as a Student Governor on the Board of Governors and serving as a student ambassador for many NSCC functions.

Teri graduated from NSCC's public relations program in 2004 and now works as a Communications Coordinator for Air Canada Jazz. "For me, NSCC provided the structure and direction I needed after earning a university degree", she says. "The 'hands-on' learning is truly an invaluable tool for today's student. Paired with my experiences as a university graduate, NSCC showed me how to translate my learning into a career."

Outside of school and work, Teri is equally focused. Last year she represented Nova Scotia at the national curling championships; and together with her team, they are working hard to realize their ultimate dream of competing in the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.

An ability to dream big, set goals and know how to go after them is something that Teri learned first-hand at NSCC. "My NSCC diploma enabled me to seize the opportunity to really experience my education," she says. "An NSCC diploma is a dynamic life experience that instills a much-deserved sense of accomplishment but also instills a sense of power from within its learners - and the power of education knows no limits."
