Alumni Spirit Award

Thirteen $500 awards are available to graduating students at any campus.
Deadline: Spring 2012 (specific date available February 1)

Burridge Campus Adult Learning Program (ALP) Award

One $500 award is available annually to any current full-time student in the Adult Learning Program (ALP) at Burridge Campus who will be attending Burridge Campus as a full-time student in September 2011 in a NSCC certificate or diploma program.

Burridge Campus Spring Student Success Award

One $500 award is available to any current full-time student at Burridge Campus who is returning as a full-time student at Burridge Campus in September 2011 in a NSCC certificate or diploma program or Adult Learning Program (ALP).

Burridge Campus Tri-County Entrance Scholarship

One $500 scholarship is available annually to any student graduating from high school in the tri-county area coming directly to Burridge Campus in the same year as a full-time student in the first year of a NSCC certificate or diploma program in September 2011.

CANS Building Futures for Youth Award

Three $1,000 awards are available to all students who have successfully completed the Building Futures for Youth program and are entering a construction-related program, or apprenticeship program at any NSCC campus in the 2011-2012 academic year.

Construction Curling Association Scholarship

One $1,000 award is available to second-year students enrolled in select programs.

Danny Tobin Memorial Award for Adult Learning Program Graduates

One $1,000 award is available to any student entering a full-time program at the Annapolis Valley Campus, Middleton Site, directly from the NSCC Adult Learning Program at the Annapolis Valley Campus.

Danny Tobin Memorial Award for Bridgetown Regional High School Graduates

One $1,000 award is available to any student entering a full-time program at the Annapolis Valley Campus, Middleton Site, directly from Bridgetown Regional High School.

One $1,000 award is available to all students enrolled in the second year of the Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant Program.

One $1,000 award is available to ALP graduates at any NSCC Campus who are enrolled in an apprenticeable trade.

JR Eisener Contracting Limited Award

One $1,000 award is available to students who are entering the Civil Engineering Technology Program or the Construction Management Technology Program at NSCC Waterfront Campus in September 2011. Preference will be given to graduates of Dartmouth High School, Dartmouth, NS; Prince Andrew High School, Dartmouth, NS; and Lockview High School, Fall River, NS

Lunenburg Campus O₂ Award

One $500 award is available to any South Shore Regional School Board student who successfully completed the Options and Opportunities (O₂) program and has been enrolled for full-time studies in the 2011-2012 academic year at the NSCC Lunenburg campus.

One $2,000 award is available to students enrolled in the Welding Diploma, Welding Inspection and Quality, Metal Fabrication & Plating, and Engineering Technician programs.

One $1,000 award is open to full-time students entering their first year of full-time studies at any campus of NSCC.

Rotary Club of Dartmouth East Distinguished Teaching Award, Akerley Campus

The Rotary Club of Dartmouth East is pleased to continue their sponsorship of the Distinguished Teaching Service Award, recognizing the outstanding contribution of an NSCC Akerley Campus Faculty member with a $500 donation to Akerley Campus Student Emergency Fund.

Rotary Club of Halifax Distinguished Teaching Service Award

The Rotary Club of Halifax is pleased to continue their sponsorship of the Distinguished Teaching Service Award which recognizes the outstanding contribution of a faculty member at the Institute of Technology Campus of NSCC. The value of this award is $1,000. The instructor will receive a plaque and a $500 award. He or she is then given the opportunity to allocate the other $500 to a pre-existing student initiative.

Rogers Radio & Broadcasting Award

Four $2,000 awards are available to all first-year students enrolled in the Radio and Television Arts Program who chose either the Radio Performance & Studio Production or the Broadcast Journalism specializations in their second year of study.

Four $1,250 awards are available to any full-time student enrolled at any campus in the following programs: Baking & Pastry Art, Boulanger & Baking Art, Cooking, Culinary Arts or Tourism Management.

Two $1,000 awards are available to all students entering or continuing in the NSCC Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management Technology or Architectural Engineering Technician programs.

Bread and Roses Bursary

Twenty $1,000 awards are available to any full or part-time female student enrolled at any campus in one of selected programs.

Burridge Campus Community Involvement Award

One $500 award is available annually to any current full-time student at Burridge Campus in a NSCC Certificate, Diploma, or Adult Learning Program who demonstrates significant commitment to his/her community.

Burridge Campus Mature Student Award

One $500 award is available annually to any student who has been living independently for four or more years and will be attending Burridge Campus as a full-time student in a NSCC certificate or diploma program in September 2011.

One $1,000 award is available to students enrolled in the Human Resource Management Advanced Diploma program.

Cape Breton Island Building & Construction Trades Council and Unionized Cape Breton Contractors Entrance Bursary

Two $500 bursaries are available to students graduating from any high school in Cape Breton and entering a specific program from either the Strait Area or Marconi Campus.

Carol Brasok Lifelong Learning Award

One $1,500 award is open to single mothers who are entering or continuing in any NSCC program, over the age of 21 and have had at least a three-year absence from formal studies.

Two $1,000 awards are available to all full-time students entering the Civil Engineering Technology, Metal Fabrication, Welding Diploma and Welding Inspection & Quality Control diploma, certificate or apprentice programs.

CIPS – NSCC Information Technology Scholarship

Two $500 awards are available to second-year full-time students enrolled in any concentration of the Information Technology program at any campus of NSCC.

Dr. Jack Buckley Scholarship

Two $500 scholarships are available annually to First Nations and African Canadian residents of Nova Scotia who are full time students in a certificate, diploma or advanced diploma program at NSCC.

Two $500 awards are open to students who are entering or continuing in the Horticulture & Landscape Technology, Heavy Duty Equipment/Truck and Transport Repair and Heavy Equipment Operator programs at any campus of NSCC.

One $2,000 award is open to students enrolled in the second year of the Environmental Engineering Technology Program at the Waterfront Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College. Special consideration will be given to visible minorities in financial need. Students are encouraged to self-identify.
