My World of Learning – Our Mission & Vision
Mission Statement
My World of Learning Child Care Association is a non-profit child care centre whose staff and management are committed to providing quality inclusive child care in a safe, nurturing learning environment for all children between the ages of eighteen months and five years.
Vision Statement of Inclusive Child Care
The staff and management of My World of Learning Child Care Association believe that all children have the right to attend our centre. We believe in working as a team with parents and professionals to offer an inclusive environment. We recognize the need for our continued learning through professional development opportunities to offer quality child care services.
Inclusion Policy
At My World of Learning we believe that:
- All children have the right to attend quality inclusive child care. The building the day care is located in does have some accessibility limitations.
- Quality inclusive child care should offer a developmentally and individually appropriate learning environment. My World of Learning offers play-based learning through teacher-planned and child-initiated activities.
- Children thrive when playing with their peers in a child care setting that is representative of society.
- All children have the right to be treated fairly.
- All children have the right to have their needs met to reach their full potential. Children’s needs should be met through accommodations, modifications, and support to allow them to participate in all activities. Support can include parents and day care staff working as a team with professionals such as early interventionists, nutritionists, physiotherapists and speech and language pathologists to create routine based plans, behaviour guidance plans and menus to meet goals that happen naturally throughout the day.
- Parents are given an opportunity to participate, at their convenience, in the child care program. Participation can include visiting their children, attending parent meetings, being part of team meetings held to address specific issues and helping during special events/field trips.
